In a role that was made for Jean Dujardin, he acts like he has been doing this for a long time. By 'this' I mean executing an eccentric project that is about to take over his life and muddle his relationship with the world. And by 'the world' I mean the sorry village that his Georges character travels to after buying a vintage jacket made of 100% deerskin which also marks his obsession with it, something that both induces laughter in its audience and also highlights the crazy, primal nature of obsessive compulsion characterized by depression, loneliness, and unconditional enmity against the humankind. I have no words to describe the virulent turn Le daim (Deerskin) takes as Georges laughingly has his way by conspiring with himself to take forward his obsession with his deerskin jacket, which I should add is 'killer style' in his own words. Whether it is the inflated price that he pays for the second-hand jacket or the newfound skill of videography or mistaking a film editor with a creditor, Le daim has been written in a way that is guaranteed to make you laugh every five minutes. The outlandish plot, accentuated by terrific performances by Dujardin and Adele Haenel (who acts with her face and that's enough) and also by the peculiar style of referral writing (where the aftermath of an event in a scene is shown in the following one or the one after that) by director-writer Quentin Dupieux makes this comedy crime drama a blast experience. I can't recommend it more and I am definitely going to be watching more of Dupieux's work. Bravo! TN.

Bon l'espace commentaire a l'air d'être d'accord mais le pitch de réalité est lui aussi digne d'un fumeur de spliff : Alain chabbat pour produire son film doit trouver le meilleur cri de l'histoire du cinéma, il part donc à sa recherche. En espérant que ça te donne envie de le voir. Le daim allocine. Le daimler. Montage relou à regarder. Au poste entre temps mec. Adèle est un magnifique actrice qui gagne à être plus reconnue. À venir j'espère...
3:00 en même temps j'ai l'impression que rien a du sens mais que tout a du sens Si ça a du sens ce que je viens de dire. J'ai seulement cliqué pour voir le contexte de la citation du titre. Que Dupieux ait ajouté avec un 4X4 m'a d'autant plus ravi que Refn et ses films m'insupportent. Quand on en arrive à voir la prétention à travers un montage ça devient grave : d'autres grands stylistes comme PTA, Edgar Wright, Bong Joon-Ho, Wong Kar Wai ou Tarkovski (pour ne citer qu'eux) sont tout autant esthètes sans m'inspirer autant d'antipathie. Peut-être qu'on n'a tout simplement pas les mêmes rythmes ni le même sens de ce qui fait sens Refn et moi et que ça va pas plus loin, mais j'aurai jamais capté l'aura dont sont auréolés ses films. Quelques belles images, un propos superficiel et caricatural sur le mal, et beaucoup de vide. Enfin bon peu importe, y'a bien assez de films à regarder de toute façon.

Cela dit, il n’a nul besoin de durer plus longtemps car, même en y mettant la meilleure volonté du monde, ce film absurde met quand même assez mal à l’aise très vite. L’absurde, le non-sens, moi je n’ai rien contre, au contraire. Ici, c’est un absurde noir, presque psychiatrique, et il faut faire un vrai effort pour accepter ce postulat pendant... Georges est un homme qui quitte tout du jour au lendemain pour s'acheter un blouson en daim avec lequel il va tisser une relation particulière. Une relation fétichiste poussée à l'extrême, jusqu'à la folie. C'est vrai que le blouson est important, autant que la matière du daim, mais on peut également parler de ce caméscope qu'il reçoit en... Ce film est très spécial et ne va pas plaire à tout le monde c'est certain. Pour ma part, je suis mitigée, d'un côté je l'ai trouvé intrigant, captivant durant toute la première moitié et d'un autre côté, il se trouve que toute la seconde moitié cela part trop en vrille, dans le gore, l'absurde et c'est franchement dérangeant. Bon en même temps, quand on connaît le réalisateur, c'est conforme à son univers et il faut aller voir... Amis des bêtes, vous ne verrez pas (ou si marginalement.. ) ces charmants cervidés ("Le Daim", pourtant.. ) dans le nouvel opus Dupieux, mais un héros à très nette araignée au plafond! "Georges", milieu de quarantaine fatigué, est en rupture. D'un peu tout: conjugalité, sociabilité, employabilité..... Le daim streaming. 7 /10 A comedy as absurd as endearing This film describes a fetishistic relationship between George (interpreted by Jean Dujardin) and his suede jacket, bought 7000 euros after surreptitiously emptied the bank account he shares with his wife. The relationship he creates with this personified jacket will switch following two almost-concomitant events: the jacket will communicate to George its (his? ) wish and Georges will meet Denise (interpreted by Adèle Haenel). Although this film is devoid of rationality, some will see a profound message such as metaphor, allegory, symbolism,... Whatever, one thing is certain: Jean Dujardin and Adèle Haenel play excellently and the atmosphere created by Quentin Dupieux is deliberately both unhealthy and funny. Finally, even if the beginning of the film is confusing or disturbing (the whole film somehow, but you'll gradually get used to it), once the atmosphere is in place, you'll await the denouement with impatience. 25 out of 30 found this helpful. A man is obsessed with owning a late 60s-70s style deerskin jacket. So, he spends about $10, 000 to buy one (when it should be free or next to it since no one today wants one) and then spends the rest of the film making up lies as he stays in a small French town. I was excited to see this film when I attended the Philadelphia Film Festival. After all, I have really enjoyed the other films I've seen starring Jean Dujardin. However, after seeing it, I was left very, very cold. The reason is like some other French films, such as "Buffet Froid", it's an example of Absurdism. Absurdism is really NOT just putting bizarre and often disconnected events into a film and provoking a reaction in the audience. I honestly could tell that some folks in the audience LOVED they were laughing at when it wasn't funny in the least. And, for me, the experiment simply got tiresome after about five minutes. Overall, a joyless, unfunny and dull that some love but the average viewer will be left thinking "What the $%** did I just watch?! ". 18 out of 31 found this helpful. 5 /10 A flop.. Scene is great, autumn is filmed perfectly, Jean Dujardin looks exactly how he need to be. Soundtrack is pretty good. This story could be a nice tv series like Fargo, but director had other plans. So, if you are good with not ordinary scenario and got a dark sense of humor - this movie is exactly what you need. Plus, you will be waiting for an ending with so much interest like never before. Perfect trailer first of all. Jean Dujardin is great in the role of narcissistic man who got hit by life. Scenario is so perfect, it's clearly neutral at the beginning. First I was thinking - it's a drama, not comedy. But then all around started to be so exciting. You can't imagine this mix of clever narcissistic man starting to be a little bit crazy. Seems like a quirky idea that was extended into a movie... without any real character development, motivations or purpose. The entire premise of a guys obsession for a jacket feels extremely forced. Watching, I always felt conscious of the scriptwriting process. All plot turns felt very forced. It honestly seemed like Quentin had taken a random bizarre idea, and tried to brainstorm ways to make it work across genres, in an arthouse package. Its an offbeat mixed genre cocktail that seems to suffer from an identity crisis. Comedy, Horror, drama, arthouse - but in trying to cross all genres just fails to have anything compelling about it. Not funny, clever, deep or exciting in anyway unfortunately. Dupieux has a strong visual style, the cinematography is well done... and Dujardin is excellent at whatever he touches, but he shouldn't have touched this script. The whole movie really missed the mark for me. I give it 5/10 because on paper it has everything I like... a strong visual style, quirky premise and fantastic lead man in Jean Dujardin... but unfortunately putting all the elements together was the most disappointing flaw for me. I feel that watching "bad" movies can often be the most educational in evolving as a filmmaker and I look forward to see what Dupieux learns from his mistakes in this below average film. 1 out of 4 found this helpful. Ailesi Denizli’nin Tavas ilçesine bağlı olan Kızılcabölük beldesinden olan Özay Gönlüm1953 senesinde Denizli Erkek Sanat Enstitüsü’ne başladı. Enstitü’de müziğe olan yatkınlığı ve farklı kişiliği ile çok sevilen bir öğrenci olan Gönlüm ’ün henüz 16 yaşındayken Türk türkülerinin en ünlü derleyicisi Muzaffer Sarısözen’le tanıştı. Bu tanışma Gönlüm ‘ün kariyerini de belirledi. Başarıları ile hala dilden dile dolaşan Özay Gönlüm, Ankara radyosundaki Yurttan Sesler programı ile sanat dünyasına ilk adımı attı. Bir süre Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı Film Radyo Televizyon merkezinde çalışan Özay Gönlüm, 1966 senesinde yetişmiş saz sanatçısı olarak Ankara radyosunda çalışmalarını sürdürmeye devam etti. Özellikle egenin en güzel şehirlerinden bir tanesi olan Denizli’nin türkülerine sazı ve sesi ile can veren Özay gönlüm, dinleyenlerde derin izler bıraktı. En az çalıp söylediği ege türküleri kadar fıkraları, taklit yeteneği, şovmenliği ve kullandığı dillere destan Denizli şivesiyle folklorun zenginleşmesine katkı sağladı. 1960 yıllarında sahne hayatına da başlayan sanatçı 1973 yılı itibari ile yaklaşık 10 yıl kadar düzenli bir şekilde İzmir Enternasyonal fuarında sahneye çıktı. Türküleri ile dillere destan olan Özay Gönlüm, bu sürede daha çok tanınma fırsatı buldu. En başta Zeki Müren olmakla beraber daha pek çok ünlü ile aynı sahneyi paylaşma imkanı buldu. Bir Yeşilçam filminde de başrol oyuncusu olarak karşımıza çıkan Özay Gönlüm TRT ekranlarında çocuklara ve tarıma yönelik programlarda da yer aldı. Kültür Bakanlığı Halk Müziği Geliştirme Merkezinde (hakem) repertuar kurulu üyeliği yapan Gönlüm ’ün son programı ise yine TRT ekranlarındaki Türk Halk Müziği İstekleri isimli programı oldu. Radyo tiyatrolarında ve oyunlarında rol alan Gönlüm, televizyon ve radyolarda yayınlanan Nineden Mektuplar tiplemesi ile büyük ilgi gördü. Çöz De Al Mustafa Ali, Özay’ın en sevilen türkülerinden bir tanesi oldu. Türküyü Fişini de Al Mustafa Ali olarak değiştirip seslendirerek, halkı vergiye yönelik makbuzları toplamaya davet ederek sosyal bilincini göstermiş oldu. Amerika Birleşik Devletleri, Çin, Avrupa ve Avustralya’da konserler veren ünlü sanatçı en başta Kütahya ve Denizli yörelerinden olmak üzere daha pek çok yöreden 3400’den fazla türkü tedvin etti. Özellikle Şu Dağlar Tepe Tepe, Osmanım’ın Mendili, Adım adım Denizli’nin yolları, Cemile’min Gezdiği Dağlar Meşeli, Asmam Çardaktan, Çöz de Al Mustafa Ali, Sultan seccadesi, Denizli’nin Horozları gibi türküleri ile tanınan Özay Gönlüm, yöresel icra tekniği, Teatral yeteneği, yorumu ve (Yaren) adını verdiği üçlü sazı ile kısa sürede Türk halk müziğinde bir ekol oluşturmayı başardı. Bağlama ile birlikte cura ve tambura tekniğine de büyük önem veren Özay Gönlüm, ege yöresinde Hamit Çine’den Ramazan Güngör’e kadar pek çok curacı ile çalışmıştır. Cura konusunda da ustalığını katıldığı programlarda her boyda cura çalarak gösteren Gönlüm, Yaren adını verdiği enstrümanında çöğür, cura ve bağlamayı bir araya getirmiştir. Türküleri ile 34 senedir gönüllerde taht kuran üstat Özay Gönlüm, 2 sene akciğer rahatsızlığı ile boğuşarak yaşadı. Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Göğüs Hastalıkları Kliniği’ne tedavi edilmek amacı ile yatan ünlü sanatçı hastalığa yenik düştü. 01. 03. 2000 tarihinde solunum yetmezliği sebebi ile hayata gözlerini yuman Gönlüm, arkasında gözü yaşlı pek çok hayran bıraktı. Cebeci Asri mezarlığına defnedilen Gönlüm ‘ün hayranları onu hiç yalnız bırakmıyor. İyi bir sanatçı olduğu kadar iyi bir baba da olan Özay Gönlüm ‘ün eşi Ayten hanımdan dünya güzeli 2 kızı oldu. Türk dinleyicileri, Gönlüm’ü şık takım elbisesi, peruk saçı, kolunda tesbihi, yeleği, ayağında çizmesi ve sazının altında bacağına serili mendili ile tanımaktadır. Özay Gönlüm dendiğinde akla gelen ege yöresinden türküleri ve olmazsa olmaz olan Ninenin Mektupları’dır. Baba tarafından Denizlili olan Gönlüm, babasının askeri görev yaptığı Erzincan’da daha çok küçükken Armonika ile müzikle tanıştı. Ortaokul yıllarında müziğe keman ile devam eden Gönlüm, bağlamaya da başlamasının ardından 1965 yılında köy köy dolaşarak derlemeler yapmaya başladı. Özellikle ege yöresi tutkunu olan Gönlüm, bu yöreden pek çok türkü derleyerek Türk halk müziği repertuarına kazandırdı. Pek çok uzunçalar ve 45’liğe imza atan Gönlüm, kendisi derleyerek TRT repertuarına kazandırdığı yüzlerce türkü arasından Sobalarında kuru meşe, Çöz De Al Mustafa Ali, Sobalarında kuru meşe, Denizli’nin horozları, Avşar Beyleri, evlerinin önü bulgur azanı, Cemilemin gezdiği dağlar meşeli, Şu dağlar tepe tepe ve tepsi fındıklar türkülerini plaklara okudu. Ancak asıl satış rekorları Ninenin Mektubu plakları ile kırıldı. Hiç üşenmeden onlarca mektubu plaklara okuyan Gönlüm bu mektuplar sayesinde ününe ün kattı. Denizli şivesi ile anlattığı bu fıkralar ve hikayeler ile sevgi yağmuruna tutulan Özay Gönlüm, her daim doğal olmayı tercih etti. 70’li yılların sonlarına doğru esprili kişiliğinin yanı sıra bağlama yapımcısı Cafer Açın’a yaptırmış olduğu yareni ile de ün kazandı. 3 enstrümanın birleştiği bu sazla radyolarda, konserlerde ve televizyonlarda şovlar yapmış, şovlarıyla beğeni toplamayı başarmıştır. TRT adına pek çok alanda çalışmalar yapan Gönlüm, 80’li yıllarda televizyon için maliye bakanlığı tarafından hazırlanan KDV reklamlarında da oynadı. Yarenini de yanına alarak 42 ülkede konser vermeye giden ünlü sanatçı TRT Türk Halk Müziği Repertuar kurulu üyeliği, Kültür Bakanlığı HA Gem’de Repertuar Kurulu üyeliği ve pek çok sınavda jüri üyeliği görevlerinde de yer aldı. 45’lik/33’lük 30’a yakın kaset, 200 türkünün kaynak kişisi ya da derleyicisi olan Özay Gönlüm’ün eski 45’likleri veya uzun çalarlarını 1. El piyasasında bulmak mümkün değildir. En güncel derlemesi, kalan müzik aracılığı ile 2005 senesinde piyasaya sürülmüş olan, 2 kaset, 2 cd ve kitapçıklardan oluşan Özay Gönlüm koleksiyonu olmuştur. Après "Réalité" et "Au poste", Quentin Dupieux nous invite à plonger dans l'état de folie de Georges, 44 ans, incarné par Jean Dujardin qui, affublé d'une veste 100% daim, se croit cinéaste. Les critiques du "Masque & la Plume" sont unanimes: le cinéaste français a sans doute réalisé là l'un de ses meilleurs films. Dujardin est Georges, un quadragénaire qui plaque tout - femme, domicile, boulot - pour s'offrir un blouson en daim à franges. Un achat qui le rend fou et l’oblige à faire disparaître tous les blousons de la station des Pyrénées où le "serial-blouson" s’est réfugié, et où Adèle Haenel incarne une serveuse de bar très cinéphile. Ajoutez que Georges, à qui le vendeur du blouson en daim a refilé en prime un caméscope, se croit cinéaste... Sophie Avon: "Quentin Dupieux se renouvelle complètement" Sophie Avon a beaucoup aimé le film et applaudit le rôle tenu par Jean Dujardin, ici dénué d'humanité mais dont le caractère absurde prêté au personnage fait tout le charme du scénario et qui permet à Quentin Dupieux de se renouveler: "Je ne suis pas sûre qu'il faille voir, en ce personnage, un fou avec des névroses, je pense juste que c'est un pneu: il a l’apparence d'un homme mais, au fond, je ne suis pas sûre qu'il appartienne à une typologie humaine particulière. Ce qui est extraordinaire, c'est qu'il tourne autour de l'absurde et du non sens - un territoire très vaste - mais où Quentin Dupieux se renouvelle énormément. Contrairement à ses films précédents, qui faisaient beaucoup appel au trompe-l'œil, au verbe, au romanesque, ici, il décape tout. Quant au personnage en lui-même, joué par Jean Dujardin, elle ajoute que "oui, c'est un homme, certes, mais qui ne présente aucun affect, aucune émotion, aucun désir. Tout ce qui doit permettre de réchauffer l'intrigue et son spectateur s'est justement annulé ici pour la première fois dans l'un de ses films. On se retrouve avec une trajectoire qu'il tient jusqu'au bout. Un vertige incroyable, d'une sauvagerie totale. C'est quelque chose qu'on ne peut pas psychologiser ou comprendre mais qui, par rapport au réel, vous met dans un drôle d'état, c'est vraiment quelque chose de terrifiant. C'est ce qui contribue, d'après elle, à faire de ce dernier film, le meilleur que Quentin Dupieux ait réalisé jusque-là. "J'ai adoré la façon dont il aborde la folie: son personnage est fou mais il est donné comme fou dès les début du film, contrairement à de nombreux films où la folie se développe progressivement. Dans le film, les névroses du personnage sont nées d'une extrême solitude, avec une mise en scène extrêmement sèche et précise". Jean Dujardin habite vraiment son personnage sans faire d'efforts. "Le film présente une économie de dialogues très parlante. Le personnage apparaît neutre et, pourtant, on perçoit très clairement la folie de cet homme". Je trouve que,, film après film, Quentin Dupieux construit une œuvre singulière, totalement à part dans le cinéma français. Nicolas Schaller: "l'un des meilleurs films de Dupieux" Nicolas Schaller estime que, pour aimer ce film, il faut déjà adhérer aux films de Quentin Dupieux. Il loue ici le caractère relativement autobiographique du film à travers lequel le réalisateur français exprime aussi sa passion pour le cinéma, une passion telle que celle-ci sombre dans la folie. "J'aime beaucoup lorsqu'il tourne des films sur le cinéma. C'est presque une forme de manifeste pour l’amateurisme artistique. Il s'attelle à bricoler du non-sens dans son coin, sans chercher forcément à raconter quelque chose. Justement, quand derrière, il y a le cinéma et que la mise en abîme porte sur son propre métier, sur son propre amusement, le film devient passionnant". Là, je trouve que c'est un pur plaisir humoristique. Il y a, dans ces films un vrai côté anxiogène, une espèce de torpeur toujours présente. "Le rôle de Jean Dujardin est vraiment mu par des pulsions criminelles. C'est un film sur l’artiste et le cinéaste, une sorte d'autoportrait de Quentin Dupieux en tant que mythomane, mégalomane et fétichiste qui emmène les gens dans sa folie, notamment cette jeune serveuse dans un bar incarnée par Adèle Haenel, jusqu’au meurtre. D'ailleurs, le vrai artiste de l'histoire, c'est plus Adèle Haenel que Jean Dujardin". Il travaille comme cela un imaginaire bis, cet imaginaire cinéphile saisissant". Ce film est en quelque sorte son voyage au bout de l'enfer, une revisitation complètement folle d'une cinéphilie déviante au travers d'un personnage formidable. Michel Ciment: "sans doute son meilleur film" "Si Michel Ciment est le seul à avoir émis quelques réserves, il rejoint les autres critiques sur l'idée que le film figure parmi les meilleurs de Quentin Dupieux. Si c'est un film dépressif qui n'est pas tellement drôle, c'est sans doute le meilleur film de Quentin Dupieux. " C'est incontestablement original. Je ne sais pas si c'est un grand film, mais c'est un film que l'on peut voir avec plaisir. "Il y a une petite réserve: on lui offre un caméscope et le personnage vante les mérites du digital, je trouve que l'image n'est pas au niveau du film. Le rôle d'Adèle Haenel est également totalement orignal, d'habitude très dominatrice, fait là, au contraire, preuve d'une tendresse et d'un dévouement pur à cet homme".
